Why Are We Drawn To Vampires?

In Culture, Discipleship, Twilight, Vampires by Bizgainey3 Comments

For many, Twilight is less about a time of day and more about vampires. From Dracula to Bella Swan, millions are fascinated with vampires.  We are drawn to zombies too for that matter.

Indeed, we are captivated by bloodsuckers.

According to The-Numbers.com, a website that follows the movie industry, Twilight movies grossed over 3 billion dollars world wide (http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/franchise/Twilight).

Domestic box office receipts tallied over 1 billion alone.  Yes, you read that right!  Over 3 billion dollars globally; over 1 billion domestically.

This make me wonder . . .

Four Reasons Why I Want A ‘Sloppy Wet Kiss’ or No Kiss at All!

In Christian Leadership, Discipleship, Worship by Bizgainey8 Comments

One of my favorite modern worship songs is called How He Loves Us (here, https://youtu.be/TCunuL58odQ?list=RDTCunuL58odQ).  Written by John Mark McMillian, the version I prefer is performed by the David Crowder Band.

I concluded last week’s post with the above quote.   Essentially urging that God is not absent from us but it is we who are absent from God.  I then asked a question (captured in the image below) I have been considering at great length these days.

In order to move forward on this journey of discovering the self-disclosing beauty of God, I find it helpful to …

WEDNESDAY’S WORD OF THE WEEK, MARCH 4, 2015 – EVANGELISM

In Discipleship, WORD OF THE WEEK by Bizgainey2 Comments

Along with the implementation of my new blog site, I intend to launch a ‘word of the week’ post.  This weekly post (I hope to distribute on Wednesday of each week), will offer a brief ‘word’ for your consideration and reflection.  Each post will offer a word, quote, poem, saying, etc. of an author I am reading or have read.  I will also include a link to the larger body of work, where appropriate.

Today’s “Wednesday’s Word of the Week” is EVANGELISM.  The following quote is from a recent work …
